If you love live music, Morristown has you covered this summer and into the autumn months. Grab your lawn chair or a blanket and head to the Downtown Green for the annual free First Fridays Concert Series. With an assortment of food trucks along with the Night Market offering hand-crafted wares and yummy treats at the neighboring farmers market pavilion you can spend an enjoyable evening listening to some great bands while sipping your favorite craft brew.

- Copper Ridge, July 5th;
- All Skate, August 2nd; (at the Great Lawn at Fulton Hill Park);
- Weathered Soul, September 6th;
- The Billy Crawford Band, October 4th
- The Dirty French Broads close out the series on November 1st.
There’s more music to be enjoyed in Downtown Morristown at 1907 Brewing Company located on Main St. Steph Cabell brings her anything goes acoustic set to the taproom on Friday, May 24th beginning at 7 PM. Marigold Thieves will be performing in the Roosevelt Room on May 31st beginning at 7PM. Door/elevator opens at 6 PM and there is a $5 cover charge. Weathered Soul will be in the taproom on June 15th from 7:00-9:00 PM. Be sure to check the 1907 Brewing Company Facebook for more music and special events.
Historic Rose Center is offering an eclectic mix of musical events in the recently refurbished Prater Hall beginning with the Live at Rose Center series. Mitch Smith kicks off the series on May 24 followed by Mike River and James Leigh & The Rest on June 5. The Vertical Birds will be performing on July 12th and the multi-talented Michael Reno Harrell closes out this series on August 24. General admission tickets are $18; VIP tickets are $28 and can be purchased here. Feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages (no glass containers, please).
June 22nd is the date for the inaugural Between the Lakes Blues Festival at Rose Center beginning at 10 AM. While still in the planning stages, currently confirmed acts offering a wide variety of Blues, Rock, Soul, Rhythm & Blues, and Zydeco include the Mt. Olive Pleasure Club; Dirty Doug & Jonny; Mighty Blue, and Ray Beltran & Blue Max. More details are available here.
Hamblen County will celebrate Independence Day on Thursday July 4th with a FREE concert by the Academy of Country Music winning band LITTLE TEXAS. After thousands of shows, over 7 million units sold, and celebrating over 30 years of touring, it’s no wonder this group has earned the moniker “hardest working band in country music”. You won’t want to miss this great evening of country music. Fireworks will follow.
